|Competence Centre of Food and Fermentation Technologies (CCFFT) was established on June 15th, 2004. and became fully operational from October 27th, 2004. The laboratory facilities were launched in the beginning of 2005, and they have been in practically full use since April 2005.
The new technologies established recently – genomics and proteomics, systems biology present new possibilities to consider the detailed physical and chemical characteristics of starter bacteria and other industrial microorganisms, as well as raw materials and additives to optimize the production processes, to develop new products with precisely tuned functional properties. Besides systems biology nutrigenomics is a new challenge for the cutting edge food science and product development.
